Animal Crossing: New Horizons has taken over quarantine and has given people a little bit of escapism in these uncertain times. ACNH is from Nintendo and is exclusively on the Swift. It does take an online subscription but it was pretty cheap for the year.
I will say when I started the game (I have never played any of the other games in the franchise.) I wasn’t sure what to expect. Immediately I almost had an anxiety attack over the home loans, being in debt, and my cult leader landlord. It was a little bit to much of a reminder of how scary the world is right now but then I remembered that I was talking to a raccoon and that helped. The game has definitely helped with my retail therapy itch. Wanna buy a dress for 4,000 bells? Go fish for a little while and sell your catch to the two smaller raccoon cult members! It’s so easy on my bank account!
I have seen other designers for giggles post some of their designs in Animal Crossing and it is oddly cathartic. I have even started coming up with new designs thanks to the silly little game.
